Two more projects have been awarded funding in Birmingham as part of the HS2 Community and Business Funds.
The Spitfire Advice and Support Services receives £74,898 to provide more support for families
The Spitfire Advice and Support Services is a charity in Castle Vale, Birmingham. The aim of their ‘Hub of Life’ project is to support Castle Vale Community Library to become a sustainable facility for the community.
The activities delivered through this project will be targeted towards families including those where children face adverse childhood experiences and where children have additional needs such as Autism and ADHD. The project includes specialist activities for children with additional needs, activities to support families and arts and creativity activities.
The Worth Foundation receives £75,000 to provide employment support to people in the Firs and Bromford estate area
The Worth Foundation is a charity and social enterprise. Their Firs and Bromford Enterprise Hub project will create an enterprise hub will provide employment and training opportunities for local people.
The hub will serve as a creative space hosting three enterprises and participants will receive mentoring support by trained youth work staff including:
