News on HS2 in Birmingham

Early works to construct the new railway, is carried out by a joint venture between Laing O’Rourke and J. Murphy & Sons, known as LM.

As part of LM’s work to prepare Birmingham for HS2, we will be carrying out ground investigations within our existing construction sites at Network Park and Saltley Business Park.

The work will begin on Monday 27 January and will involve breaking out concrete and drilling boreholes. This is preparatory work in readiness for the main works construction. Measures will be in place to mitigate any dust or noise created by these works.

We will be carrying out the work between 8am-6pm and we expect to be finished in around 6 weeks.

As all of the work will take place within HS2’s existing work sites, you may notice an increase in work activity during the day in these locations.
