News on HS2 in Birmingham

Heartlands Park is the site of HS2’s future Washwood Heath depot. We will also be building viaducts and overbridges in the area. To help us design these structures we will need to carry out test piling. Test pile investigations are used to determine the load bearing capacity of deep foundations and will allow us to validate our design and construction methodology.

There may be an increase in the number of potentially large vehicles on local roads as they travel to and from our worksite. On site we will be using construction machinery like drilling rigs and cranes.
