News on HS2 in Birmingham

Early works Early works for HS2 are carried out by LM – a joint venture between Laing O’Rourke and J. Murphy & Sons.

On Saturday 8th December 2018, LM will be clearing an area of the Curzon Street Station site to prepare it for construction.

We need to clear the area running alongside the Network Rail wall, known as Paternoster Row (indicated in red on the map below).

The works include vegetation removal and ground clearance. This will involve a machine removing trees and a digger removing soil and rubble from the area.

We expect to start the works at 12:30 am in the early morning of Saturday 8th December and finish by 7:am. Staff may be on site up to an hour before and an hour after these times. The works need to be carried out during these hours because there are fewer trains running on the nearby track.

There will be some noise created by these works, but we will keep this to a minimum.
