Notification of Temporary traffic management on Andover Street

Early works for HS2 are carried out by LM – a joint venture between Laing O’Rourke and J. Murphy & Sons.

LM is planning to carry out utilities surveys on Andover Street across the weekend of 15th and 16th December. Details of the works are included below:

  • The trial hole will be located on Andover Street, close to the junction with Fazeley Street
  • Traffic management is needed and will consist of a road closure on Andover Street, meaning there will be no access via Fazeley Street
  • We plan to set up traffic management from 7am on Saturday 15th December and this may remain in place until 6am on Monday 17th December , although we will reopen the road sooner if we can
  • Traffic management will remain in place during this time period, while core working hours will be 8am-6pm . Staff may be on site up to an hour before and an hour after these times to set up and clear down
  • Access to all businesses on Andover Street will be maintained via Banbury Street
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times
  • We will place appropriate diversion signage up to direct road users and pedestrians
  • There will be some noise created by the works, but we will keep disruption to a minimum
  • We expect to carry out more utilities surveys in roads and footpaths across Birmingham in early 2019 and we will share more information on this when our plans are finalised.
